Crescent Lake

Crescent Lake NWR in Nebraska was established as a National Wildlife Refuge in 1931 to protect migratory bird populations. In the late 1930’s, a CCC camp was established nearby to conduct refuge improvements, including the construction of new headquarters buildings. Some of these buildings are still in use today at refuge headquarters.
